Hi there!

This week I have been drafting my 5-minute pitch, working on feedback from the web testing, and uploaded some items from Birdsnest and Petal + Pup to the proof-of-concept wardrobe, to plug the gap until we launch the official website next week!

CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK: BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER

I have been learning so much about how to run a good business through the Griffin Accelerator, and directly applying it to Your Season. There has been so much research, trial and error, and mentoring meetings happening, but sooner or later, it all has to be distilled down into only 5 minutes of proof that this business is worth investing in.

And boy is that a challenge!

I spent a lot of time over the last week writing, revising, researching (more), asking opinions on what I might have missed, overlooked or miscalculated. The pitch still has a long way to go over the next few weeks, but I now have a solid draft to work from.

WIN FOR THE WEEK: BIG MEETINGS

I have had some wonderful meetings booked with stylists for professional feedback on how Your Season might be able to add value for both them and their clients. There is still some development of the algorithm to go before stylists would be interested in, say, paying for a subscription, but there has been some genuine excitement, which shows I am on the right track.

“It’s going to be a game-changer” and “Your timing is great!” are two awesome pieces of feedback that I’ve received from stylists. Validation like this is incredible!

STYLE TIP FOR THE WEEK: CORE COLOURS

Core colours are colours that work with everything else. If you are a Winter palette, this will include white and black. For Summers navy and grey are great core colours. These colours are the anchor of your wardrobe. They will work with everything else.

I recommend building your outfits (good work pants, signature skirt, blazer, etc.) in a core colour. Otherwise, you severely limit the amount of wear and usage the item can get within your wardrobe.

Save the bright, exciting colours for tops, accessories and special occasions. They will work much harder for you in that capacity.

If you can think of anyone who would be interested in joining me on this journey, please invite them to subscribe to the newsletter here.
